Brylee Dewitt chosen as 2025 Service Scholarship Winner

In 2020 Michigan Mortgage introduced the Service Scholarship with the goal of recognizing High School Seniors who shared the dreams of pursuing a career in service.

Careers in service include:

  • Government & Politics

  • Doctors & Nurses

For 2025, we received dozens of applicants and reviewed each one closely. We learned about each students’ goals and aspirations, community service they completed, impacts they made in West Michigan, and how they plan to give back to those that need it most.

After much consideration, Michigan Mortgage is pleased to announce Brylee Dewitt, a 2025 Fruitport High School graduate, as a winner of this year’s Michigan Mortgage Service Scholarship.

BryleeShe said the following in his application.

“Taking care of people when they are at the most intimidating and life-threatening moments of their lives may seem nerve-wracking to others, but this brings me joy. To possess the ability to bring patients back to a sense of stability and comfort is how I want to make an impact on the world, and more specifically, West Michigan.”

Brylee is headed to Madonna University in the fall to pursue a career in nursing.

“This scholarship allows me to not have to worry about the financial aspect of college, and have full focus on my education and studies instead,” she said. “Thank you Michigan Mortgage for believing in me and my future, I am so humbled and honored to be presented with this scholarship!”

Why Brylee? We’re told she has a natural instinct to serve and help others in any way she can. She leads by example. She is not just about saying all the right things, her actions speak volumes amongst her peers. Brylee will excel in a career of serving others. She is an individual who will put her entire physical, mental, and social being into what she does. She genuinely enjoys serving others and will accept any challenge that comes her way with open arms and a positive, confident attitude.
